Warsheikh is a historical town 60 km North of Mogadishu. The community depends on fishing for its livelihood. However, due to lack of infrastructure and cold chain, the community suffered heavy losses since there catch  would go bad if not sold the same day. Solargen partnered with Somalia Stability Fund to design a solar mini grid to solve the energy challenge. Despite a lot of logistical challenges, the project was completed mid-2018. Today, the community can store their fish until they get a good price for it because every house has a freezer. They are also able to watch their favourite TV station. Their lives have been transformed for the better.
