Beledweyne 600 Acres Irrigation
| This was a project to bring 600 acres of land under irrigation for 3 communities along river Shabelle in Hiiran, Somalia. Using expensive and unsustainable diesel engines has kept these farmers poor and struggling for a long time. We partnered with SYPD to design solar powered pumping system that would pump about 9000 M3 of water per day to irrigate these farms. The project benefited 600 families directly as each family was given an acre to farm. |
