| Warsheikh is a historical town 60 km North of Mogadishu where the community depends on fishing for its livelihood. However, due to lack of infrastructure and cold chain, they suffered heavy losses caused by perishability. Solargen partnered with Somalia Stability Fund to design a solar mini grid to solve the energy challenge using our genuine products sold on our online shop. Despite a lot of logistical challenges, the project was completed mid-2018. Today, the community can store their fish until they get a good price for it because every house has a freezer. They are also able to watch their favorite TV station. Their lives have been transformed for the better. |
